Basketball Game Preview: Montgomery County Eagles vs. Claxton Tigers

The Montgomery County Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Claxton Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Montgomery County has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 17.

On Saturday, Montgomery County took a blow against Treutlen, falling 77-17.

Meanwhile, Claxton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Bryan County and fell 53-17. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 469th, while the Redskins are ranked 116th).

Montgomery County's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Claxton, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

Montgomery County came up short against Claxton when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 37-33. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Claxton's Jayda Jordan, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 18 rebounds.
