Softball Recap: Red Wing Wingers vs. Faribault Falcons        
        
		
            
 Red Wing has not done well against Faribault recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Wednesday. The Red Wing Wingers walked away with  a   4-1  victory over the Faribault Falcons. For Red Wing, this counts as revenge for the   5-4 defeat Faribault walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in April.
  Brianna Tix made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She  struck out 12 batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits (and only one walk). Tix has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in five consecutive pitching appearances. Tix was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Isabella Guetzlaff was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with a  home run and two  RBI.  Amy Grove was another key contributor,  going 2-for-4 with two  RBI.
 Red Wing's win  ended  a  three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 6-6. As for Faribault, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Red Wing will  face off against Northfield at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Northfield will roll in looking for their  fifth straight  victory, something Red Wing surely won't give up without a fight. As for Faribault, they will be staying on the road  on Thursday to face off against Winona at 5:00  p.m. Winona's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6  runs per game  this season, so Faribault's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
