Basketball Recap: Pueblo East Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Pueblo East can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Windsor Wizards and fell 69-39. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Wizards are ranked 31st).

Madden Smiley was his usual excellent self, going 7-for-15 to rack up 20 points and three steals for Windsor. Caleb Billman also deserves some recognition as he scored his first point of the season.

Pueblo East moved to 17-8 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak. As for Windsor, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

Pueblo East does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Windsor, they will square off against Longmont at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
