Soccer Recap: South Dade Comes Up Short

After flying high against Braddock last Monday, South Dade came back down to earth. The South Dade Buccaneers fell just short of the MAST Academy Makos by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday. The Buccaneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Makos apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.

South Dade's goal came courtesy of Alexandra Mendez, who's now up to six this season.

The loss snapped South Dade's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-3-1 record. As for MAST Academy, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1-2.

South Dade will welcome Mourning at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for MAST Academy, they will be playing at home against Downtown Doral at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. MAST Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.3 goals per game this season.
