Recap: Boyd County Spartans vs. Stuart Broncos
It was a good run, but the Boyd County Spartans unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 52-46 loss to they. They were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Stuart apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Boyd County still got an impressive performance from Paige Drueke, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Drueke scored a full 47.8% of Boyd County's points, the 11th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mckenzie Snyder, who scored five points along with six rebounds and four blocks.
Boyd County's loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-8. As for Stuart, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Boyd County will head out on the road to face off against Ainsworth at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stuart, they will be playing at home against Neligh-Oakdale on Saturday.
