Football Game Preview: Leake Academy Rebels vs. Tri-County Academy Rebels

Leake Academy will square off against Tri-County Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Leake Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Washington 63-28. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Generals recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Leake Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Garrett Adcock led the charge by rushing for 162 yards and three TDs while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, and also picking up 43 receiving yards and one score. Adcock showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 56 yards. George Wilcox was another key signal caller, throwing for 310 yards and four touchdowns on only 19 passes.

Meanwhile, Tri-County Academy humbled Columbia Academy with a 44-7 victory. Given the Rebels' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Cougars are ranked 94th) , the win on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leake Academy's record is now 9-2. As for Tri-County Academy, their record now sits at 10-1.

Leake Academy took a serious blow against Tri-County Academy when the teams last played back in October, falling 52-18. Can Leake Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
