Recap: Marvin Ridge Mavericks vs. Rock Hill Bearcats
Even though the Rock Hill Bearcats scored an imposing 55 points on Thursday, the Marvin Ridge Mavericks still came out on top. Marvin Ridge blew past Rock Hill 79-55. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-21.
Marvin Ridge's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cinjun Bridges, who went 7 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 1 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Clark, who scored 15 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
Marvin Ridge has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 3-1 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Rock Hill, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marvin Ridge won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Piedmont at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th. Piedmont will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 300th, while Marvin Ridge is ranked 116th). As for Rock Hill, they will head out on the road to face off against South Pointe at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. South Pointe is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
