Softball Recap: Enochs Continues Road Dominance on Thursday

Gregori typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Enochs proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Jaguars 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 13 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Kaylee Ruiz tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits.

At the plate, Makayla Alailima was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Camila Ramirez Quintana was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Enochs kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in 16 consecutive games.

Enochs pushed their record up to 20-4 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Gregori, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Enochs will welcome Turlock at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least ten runs in their last four matches. As for Gregori, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Merced at 4:00 p.m. The Bears' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Jaguars' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
