Softball Recap: Lakeside Christian's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Lakeside Christian fell victim to Saint Stephen's Episcopal and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saint Stephen's Episcopal Falcons. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Lions' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Jamisen Rheintgen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

Lakeside Christian moved to 4-2 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Saint Stephen's Episcopal, their victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Lakeside Christian Lions duke it out with Bradenton Christian Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Saint Stephen's Episcopal, they will host Seffner Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
