Softball Recap: Walton-Verona Comes Up Short

Walton-Verona fell victim to Bishop Brossart and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 8-0. The Bearcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Walton-Verona saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylan Edwards, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.

Walton-Verona has also been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Bishop Brossart, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-8.

Looking ahead, Walton-Verona will square off against Williamsburg at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bishop Brossart, they will face off against Dixie Heights at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
