Volleyball Recap: Cypress Creek Takes a Loss

Cypress Creek lost against Stratford back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cougars came up short against the Spartans, falling 3-0. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-9, 25-20.

Devyn Wilkes paced Cypress Creek's offense, picking up five kills. Wilkes got some help from Kayla Tracey and her eight assists. Wilkes was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Cypress Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 22-17. As for Stratford, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-14 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Cypress Creek will challenge rival Cypress Falls at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Stratford is set to face off against their familiar foe Northbrook at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
