Softball Recap: Charlotte Catholic Find Success

Charlotte Catholic's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Providence Day Chargers. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now won three in a row.

Rachel Wildman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Madden Glossner, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Piper Glossner, who scored a run and stole Four bases. while going 3-for-4.

Charlotte Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Providence Day only posted a batting average of .217.

Charlotte Catholic now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Providence Day, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Charlotte Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 6-1 loss against Ardrey Kell on the 17th. Providence Day will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Covenant Day at 5:00 p.m. on April 1st.
