On Tuesday Carter Payne didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over seven innings pitched. The effort marked the fewest hits Payne has had since back in February. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his third in a row with less than one earned run. For the season, he has an ERA of 1.48 over 33 innings pitched.
