Crestview has gone a perfect 5-0 against Beaver Local recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Rebels will be playing at home against the Beavers at 5:00 p.m. Crestview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Crestview turned things around against David Anderson on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 20-6 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Rebels considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Makayla Mckee made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Alivia Shetler was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Kerrigan Miller, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Crestview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .472. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Beaver Local earned a 7-4 win over Martins Ferry on Wednesday.
Like Crestview, Beaver Local also got a great game from a two-way player: Addie Thurik. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. Thurik was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brylee Curtis, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Brenna Jones was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
Crestview's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Beaver Local, their win bumped their record up to 15-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Crestview has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Beaver Local struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Crestview got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2022 against Beaver Local by a conclusive 9-1 score. Do the Rebels have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Beavers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
