Volleyball Recap: Citrus Valley Blackhawks vs. Diamond Bar Brahmas

Citrus Valley unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Diamond Bar Brahmas by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Blackhawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Brahmas apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Citrus Valley sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-14, 23-25, 15-9.

Delaney Allo paced Citrus Valley's offense, picking up eight kills. Allo got some help from Corinne Martinez and her six assists. Allo was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Diamond Bar can attribute much of their success to Ava Furumoto, who had 16 digs and one assist. Those 16 digs gave Furumoto a new career-high.

Citrus Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Alta Loma on the 9th. As for Diamond Bar, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Hillcrest on the 9th.
