Baseball Recap: University City Find Success

University City won the last time they faced Christian and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Centurions came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 5-1. The game was the first time the Centurions have beaten the Patriots on their field since April 25, 2022.

The team relied heavily on Justin Gonzalez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jayden Parker, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for University City and bumps their season record up to 13-8. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season.

University City will have a chance to go back-to-back against Christian: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
