Softball Recap: Stoughton Vikings vs. Sauk Prairie Eagles
Stoughton had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on the Sauk Prairie Eagles with a sharp 13-2 victory on Friday. That 11 run margin sets a new team best for the Vikings this season.
Madelyn Barsness made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.
