Softball Game Preview: Scott Skyhawks vs. Shady Spring Tigers

The Scott Skyhawks will challenge the Shady Spring Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Scott was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Sherman on Friday. The Skyhawks blew past the Tide 11-4. The victory continues a trend for the Skyhawks in their matchups with the Tide: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Shady Spring entered their tilt with PikeView on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 9-1 win.

Raegan Lane made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Lacy Osborne was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Peyton Raban, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Shady Spring now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Scott, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.
