On Wednesday, the Doherty Memorial Highlanders sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Northbridge Rams. The win made it back-to-back victories for Doherty Memorial.
Frances McMahon made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. McMahon was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
