Volleyball Game Preview: Escalon Cougars vs. Liberty Ranch Hawks + Official Tickets

The Escalon Cougars will challenge the Liberty Ranch Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Escalon took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They blew past Orestimba 3-0. The Cougars not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 30th (when they won 3-0).

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-19, 25-14.

Escalon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emma Rangel led the charge by getting ten digs and three assists. That's the most assists Rangel has posted since back in September.

Escalon was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in nine consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Liberty Ranch made easy work of Galt on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 victory.

Liberty Ranch not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Galt between 16 and 18 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-16, 25-17.

Escalon better keep an eye on Maritza Arevalo. She was instrumental in Liberty Ranch's win, getting 13 assists and seven digs.

Liberty Ranch's win bumped their record up to 14-15. As for Escalon, their victory ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 13-15.
