Baseball Recap: Walden Grove Comes Up Short

Walden Grove easily dispatched Empire last Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Walden Grove Red Wolves fell just short of the Buena Colts by a score of 6-4 on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Wolves of the 5-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2020.

Marcus Baray made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Angel Armenta was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Walden Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Buena, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Walden Grove didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-2 win against Coconino on the 12th. As for Buena, they will take on Canyon del Oro in a tournament on Thursday. Canyon del Oro will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Buena surely won't give up without a fight.
