Basketball Recap: Glendale Comes Up Short

Glendale lost against Cortez back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Glendale Cardinals took a blow against the Cortez Colts, falling 70-31. The game marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Despite the loss, Glendale still got an impressive performance from Michael Palomino, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 13 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

Nygel Lindsey continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Cortez, going 7 of 10 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cassius Henderson, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds.

Glendale is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. As for Cortez, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Glendale will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on La Joya Community at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. As for Cortez, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Thunderbird at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Thunderbird has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with five straight losses, while Cortez will come in with three straight victories.
