Basketball Recap: Atlanta Comes Up Short

Atlanta lost to Au Gres-Sims back in December of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Huskies fell 46-33 to the Wolverines. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while the Wolverines are ranked 138th).

Au Gres-Sims' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sophie Fox, who almost dropped a triple-double with 12 points, 12 rebounds, and nine blocks. Fox is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down ten or more in each of the last 16 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Adelaide Bauer, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds.

Atlanta has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season. As for Au Gres-Sims, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Looking ahead, Atlanta will face off against Traverse City Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Au Gres-Sims, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 39-15 win against Ogemaw Heights on the 27th.
