The Carolina International Comets will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Sugar Creek Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Carolina International will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Carolina International proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 37) but on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Sugar Creek 50-47. Winning is a bit easier when you make six more threes than your opponent, as Carolina International did.
Carolina International relied on the efforts of Michael Davis, who scored 11 points, and Landon Griffin, who scored 12 points. Kendall Salter was another key contributor, scoring two points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Carolina International's win bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Sugar Creek, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Carolina International have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 26.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Sugar Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.7 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Carolina International came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wildcats in their previous matchup on Wednesday, sneaking past 50-47. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Sugar Creek's Corde Harrison, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Carolina International still be able to contain Harrison? There's only one way to find out.
