Baseball Game Preview: McDaniel Mountain Lions vs. Cleveland Warriors

For the second straight game, McDaniel will face off against Cleveland. The Mountain Lions will head out on the road to take on the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Thursday, McDaniel came up short against Cleveland and fell 4-1. The Mountain Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Cleveland's part, Arlo Copony was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). Copony has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

Copony wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was James Ho, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Ho is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Ezra Oster was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

The win (which was Cleveland's sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-8. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for McDaniel, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
