Celestino Salazar-Archuleta was a major factor in McCurdy's win over Penasco on Thursday. Salazar-Archuleta produced his best game of the campaign: he got on base in five of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. McCurdy is 11-1 when Salazar-Archuleta posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise.

Salazar-Archuleta's strong effort led McCurdy over Penasco and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bobcats are a perfect 9-0 against the Panthers going back to April of 2023, a lead they'll look to extend.
