Baseball Recap: North Summit Braves vs. Monticello Buckaroo

North Summit scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Monticello Buckaroo as the North Summit Braves made off with a 13-4 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Paxton Smith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Smith was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Drake Webb was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Octavio Tarin was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

On Monticello's side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cache Young, who went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and an RBI.

The win made it two in a row for North Summit and bumps their season record up to 3-19. As for Monticello, they dropped their record down to 4-12 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
