Basketball Game Preview: Valley Rams vs. Loachapoka Indians

Valley is 0-3 against Loachapoka since January of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Rams will host the Indians at 4:30 p.m. Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.2 points per game this season.

Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a 70-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lee-Scott Academy on Tuesday. The loss was the Rams' first of the season.

Despite the defeat, Valley got top-tier performance from Kayden Dooley, who dropped a double-double with 48 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was Dooley's seventh in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was K'Leigha Kyles, who posted seven points along with six boards and five steals.

Meanwhile, Loachapoka didn't have quite enough to beat Beauregard on Friday and fell 28-26. The loss continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost three in a row.

Valley will have to contain Essense Key as she made an impact in Loachapoka's last game. She scored eight points in addition to nine rebounds and six steals. Key is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Jalady Winchester was another key player, putting up eight points and six boards.

Loachapoka now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Valley, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Valley hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 57.2 points per game. It's a different story for Loachapoka, though, as they've been averaging only 35.4 points. The only thing between Valley and another offensive beatdown is the Indians. Will they be able to keep them contained?
