Basketball Recap: Cypress Ridge Comes Up Short

Cypress Ridge had lost five straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 4-25 to make it six. They lost to the Cypress Falls Eagles on the road by a 61-42 margin. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 68-33 back in January.

As for Cypress Falls, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points over those games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cypress Falls to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dazlyn McClenon, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards. Gisselle Jackson was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with ten points and nine assists.

Cypress Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cypress Falls, they will challenge Westside at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' defense better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 51.3 points per game this season.
