Basketball Preview: Marshall County Tigers vs. Lawrence County Wildcats
Marshall County and the Wildcats are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The Marshall County Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Lawrence County Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Marshall County comes in on three and the Wildcats on four.
Even though Central Magnet scored an imposing 58 points on Friday, Marshall County still came out on top. Marshall County took their game against the 66-58.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marshall County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jabrae Howard, who scored 19 points. Howard hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Jamahl Gentry was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Lawrence County earned a 48-37 victory over the Wildcats on Friday. That's two games straight that Lawrence County has won by exactly 11 points.
Marshall County is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Lawrence County, their win bumped their record up to 20-4.
Marshall County didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Wildcats when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 63-57 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Marshall County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
