Rocky Mountain Lutheran hadn't done well against Dawson School recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Mustangs 59-57. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 59-41 victory the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2024.

Rocky Mountain Lutheran's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Abraham Rivas, who posted 19 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Gavin Borchardt, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 12 rebounds.

Loss or not, Dawson School got some senior leadership from Isaiah Tu and Ian Dorris. Tu went 11-for-27 to rack up 34 points and four steals, while Dorris shot 56% from the field en route to 15 points and five steals.

Rocky Mountain Lutheran has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Rocky Mountain Lutheran will be playing at home against Belleview Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Dawson School, they will head out on the road to square off against Front Range Baptist at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
