Football Recap: Windthorst Trojans vs. Lindsay Knights
Windthorst extended their postseason success on Friday against Lindsay. They skirted past the Lindsay Knights 30-27. The win was nothing new for the Trojans as they're now sitting on nine straight.
Windthorst found their leader in sophomore Brock Belcher, who rushed for 160 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 128 yards and three touchdowns. Those 160 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Belcher. Jaxon Stark was Belcher's top target, picking up 80 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Windthorst was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 200 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 179 rushing yards in five consecutive matches.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lane Foster, who rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown. Foster's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 102 rushing yards.
Windthorst's record is now 11-1. As for Lindsay, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-4 record.
Windthorst wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 52-34 defeat against Collinsville on the 29th. Lindsay does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
