Football Game Preview: Halifax Academy Vikings vs. Lawrence Academy Warriors

The Halifax Academy Vikings will venture away from home to face off against the Lawrence Academy Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Halifax Academy has struggled recently with six losses in a row, while Lawrence Academy will arrive with three straight victories.

Halifax Academy played against Cary Christian on Friday and lost via forfeit.

Lawrence Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of North Carolina's top teams: Wake Christian Academy, who was ranked 11th at the time (Lawrence Academy was ranked fifth). The Warriors breezed past the Bulldogs to the tune of 60-30 on Friday. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-22.

Halifax Academy better focus on containing Ayden Foster and Simon Lundy as the pair were huge in Lawrence Academy's win. Foster rushed for 144 yards and three scores while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, while Lundy threw for 269 yards and four TDs on only 19 passes. Those four passing touchdowns gave Lundy a new career-high.

Lawrence Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 208 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Halifax Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Lawrence Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Everything came up roses for Halifax Academy against Lawrence Academy when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 48-20 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Foster, who rushed for 165 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
