Softball Game Preview: East Lawrence Eagles vs. Colbert County Indians

The East Lawrence Eagles will head out to take on the Colbert County Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. East Lawrence is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.

East Lawrence fell victim to Oswego and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 6-0 to the Panthers.

Meanwhile, Colbert County also failed to score in their most recent game. They fell just short of James Clemens by a score of 2-0 on Friday. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Colbert County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mallory Gargis, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Even though they lost, Colbert County hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive contests.

Colbert County now has a losing record of 7-8-1. As for East Lawrence, their loss dropped their record down to 5-15.

East Lawrence suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Colbert County when the teams last played back in February. Can East Lawrence avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
