Basketball Recap: Midtown Skates Past Creekside with Ease

Midtown had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 41-point drubbing they dealt Creekside on Friday. The Midtown Knights breezed by the Creekside Seminoles to the tune of 86-45. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 23 points or more this season.

Midtown's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zuri Mesquitte, who went 7 for 9 on his way to 16 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Elonzo Milla, who went 5 of 7 en route to 15 points and seven rebounds.

Midtown was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Creekside's loss came despite strong showings from Daylen Jones and AJ McKissic. Jones posted 18 points and three steals, while McKissic had eight points. That's the most points McKissic has posted since back in November of 2024. Amari Estis also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Midtown is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Creekside, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-16.

Midtown has already played their next contest, a 64-42 loss against Jackson on the 28th. As for Creekside, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 78-34 defeat against Pace Academy on the 28th.
