Recap: Daleville Warhawks vs. Malone Tigers
The Daleville Warhawks had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They really took it to Malone for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-36 victory on the road. Given Daleville's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 209th in Alabama, while Malone is ranked 465th in Florida), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jamir Smith, who scored 12 points. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Ford, who scored four points along with five rebounds and four steals.
The win got Daleville back to even at 7-7. As for Malone, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
