Football Game Preview: Christian Brothers Academy Brothers vs. Shenendehowa Plainsmen

The Christian Brothers Academy Brothers will face off against the Shenendehowa Plainsmen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Christian Brothers Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 77-0 victory over Schenectady. The Brothers have beaten the Patriots the last nine times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Patriots has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, Shenendehowa made easy work of Colonie Central on Friday and carried off a 34-14 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Plainsmen's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Wolfpack are ranked 163rd).

Shenendehowa had a senior duo take command as Carter Toth rushed for 84 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries and Joseph Cardinale gained 71 total yards and a touchdown. Ryan Heptig got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Shenendehowa was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 295 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Shenendehowa's defense and their three sacks. Elijah Woodrow was especially locked on to Colonie Central's QB and sacked him twice. Heptig got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The victory got Christian Brothers Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Shenendehowa, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

Christian Brothers Academy took their victory against Shenendehowa in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 40-20 score. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Plainsmen's Ihsaan Alozie, who rushed for 198 yards while picking up 9.9 yards per carry, and also picked up 55 receiving yards and one TD. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Brothers to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
