Basketball Game Preview: Clovis West Golden Eagles vs. Clovis North Broncos

The Clovis West Golden Eagles will challenge the Clovis North Broncos at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clovis West will be strutting in after a win while Clovis North will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Friday, everything went Clovis West's way against Clovis as Clovis West made off with an 82-62 victory. Given the Golden Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Cougars are ranked 438th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jace Kellogg was his usual excellent self, going 13 of 19 to rack up 28 points along with six boards and three steals. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Dj Stickman, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.

Clovis West smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Clovis North suffered their closest loss since December 13, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Buchanan by a score of 48-46.

Clovis West has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-15 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points over those games. As for Clovis North, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-6.
