Baseball Recap: Fremont Comes Up Short

If Fremont was feeling good fresh off their 15-4 takedown of Fort Wayne Canterbury on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles fell just short of the Garrett Railroaders by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered against the Railroaders since May 8, 2018.

Fremont saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cayden Hufnagle, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Fremont's defeat dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Garrett, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-13.

Coming up, Fremont will take on Lakeland at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Garrett, they will challenge Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Saints will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something the Railroaders surely won't give up without a fight.
