Basketball Recap: Hillsdale Christian Comes Up Short

Hillsdale Christian lost against Cimarron last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Hillsdale Christian received a blow as they fell 107-92 to the Cimarron Trailblazers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (64), Hillsdale Christian still had to take the loss.

Cimarron's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Avery Butler led the charge by going 7 of 10 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points along with seven assists and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Butler, who dropped a triple-double on 24 points, 11 boards, and 11 assists.

Hillsdale Christian is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Cimarron, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Hillsdale Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cimarron, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Pond Creek-Hunter at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cimarron knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Pond Creek-Hunter likes a good challenge.
