The Fairmont Firebirds will head out to  take on the Beavercreek Beavers  at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. Fairmont is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7  runs per game  this season.
On Friday, Fairmont got the win against Springfield  by a conclusive  11-4. The Firebirds haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive  victory against them.

 Jaylin Turner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned  (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 15 Ks. With that strong performance,  she is now averaging an impressive 5.4  strikeouts per game.
 On the hitting side,  Carlee Netherton was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with one  home run, four  runs,  and two  stolen bases. Those  two  stolen bases gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Paige Russell, who  went 2-for-4 with two  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double.
 Fairmont  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters  in four consecutive  contests.
Meanwhile, Beavercreek was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight  defeat. They lost  16-5 to Centerville. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest  loss the Beavers have suffered  against the Elks since May 11, 2021.
  Olivia Blackmore made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI.  Brylee Greene was another key player,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with one  RBI.
 Fairmont's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Beavercreek, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.
Beavercreek's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them:  Fairmont has been making plenty of contact this season,  having  averaged 9  hits per game. It's a different story for Beavercreek, though, as  they've been averaging 10.9  hits. Given Fairmont's sizable advantage in that area, the Beavers will need to find a way to close that gap.
 Fairmont took their  victory against Beavercreek  in their previous meeting  last Wednesday by a conclusive  13-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Firebirds since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
