Basketball Game Preview: Wilson Hall Barons vs. Pinewood Prep Panthers

Wilson Hall is 0-8 against Pinewood Prep since December of 2014 but things could change on Monday. The Wilson Hall Barons will face off against the Pinewood Prep Panthers. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Wilson Hall is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They breezed past Cardinal Newman to the tune of 69-32.

Meanwhile, Pinewood Prep hadn't done well against First Baptist School recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Pinewood Prep blew past First Baptist School, posting a 68-38 victory. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 211th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wilson Hall has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points over those games. As for Pinewood Prep, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-7.

Wilson Hall came up short against Pinewood Prep when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 64-52. Can Wilson Hall avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
