Basketball Recap: Elk Grove Comes Up Short

Elk Grove saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a hard 70-51 fall against the Whitney Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Thundering Herd can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 363rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 51st).

This is the second loss in a row for Elk Grove and nudges their season record down to 6-5. As for Whitney, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Looking ahead, Elk Grove will take on Inderkum in a tournament on the 29th. As for Whitney, they will be taking part in a tournament against Santa Barbara at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
