Baseball Recap: Marion Comes Up Short

Marion was the 7-0 winner over Paragould when they last played one another back in April of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Patriots fell just short of the Rams by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Robert Hall was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

In other batting news, Brody Byrd was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Marion's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Paragould, they pushed their record up to 8-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

While Marion had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
