Softball Game Preview: Wadsworth Grizzlies vs. GlenOak Golden Eagles

The Wadsworth Grizzlies will head out on the road to challenge the GlenOak Golden Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Wadsworth is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Wadsworth turned things around against Nordonia on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 22-10 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Grizzlies' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Lauren Ball 2025 was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with five runs, five RBI, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Allison Capella 2027, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Wadsworth always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, GlenOak owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over McKinley.

GlenOak is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Wadsworth, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-6.

Wadsworth might still be hurting after the 13-0 loss they got from GlenOak in their previous matchup last Friday. Can the Grizzlies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
