Recap: Eastwood Troopers vs. Eastlake Falcons
The Eastwood Troopers waltzed into Friday's matchup with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They blew past Eastlake 56-22 on the road. Considering Eastwood has won three matchups by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Evan Minjarez was his usual excellent self, throwing for 356 yards and three touchdowns while completing 74.2% of his passes, and also rushing for 82 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Martinez , who rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries.
Eastwood's victory was their fourth straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.8 points per game. As for Eastlake, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.
Eastwood will be playing in front of their home fans against Frenship at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Frenship presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Eastwood in Texas (Frenship is ranked 47th, while Eastwood is ranked 142nd). Eastlake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
