Softball Recap: Oakdale Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Oakdale came tearing into Monday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Harriman Blue Devils a 3-0 shutout. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The result came thanks to Landry Smith's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Rilee Goodson, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lily O'Dell, who earned one run and three stolen bases.

Oakdale's victory bumped their record up to 19-2. As for Harriman, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.

As of now, neither Oakdale nor the Blue Devils have any future games scheduled.
