Volleyball Recap: Elayna Morales Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Vandegrift

Frisco picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They won by a set and slipped past the Vandegrift Vipers 2-1.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Frisco to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elayna Morales, who had 11 assists and six digs. Those six digs gave Morales a new career-high. Madison Wolf was another key player, getting 21 assists and three digs.

Vandegrift's loss came despite strong showings from Jamison Smith and Isobel Cullen. Smith had nine digs and four aces, while Cullen had 12 digs and three assists. Amber Gemperle also deserves some recognition as she had her first digs of the season.

Frisco has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. As for Vandegrift, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9.

Frisco wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Tascosa on the 23rd. As for Vandegrift, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Coronado on the 23rd.
