Softball Recap: Laurel Comes Up Short

Laurel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 19-6 to the McLaurin Tigers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Golden Tornadoes were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Laurel's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for McLaurin, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-9.

Laurel wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 17-5 defeat against Gautier on the 8th. As for McLaurin, they will square off against Magee at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.3 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
