Saraland typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Murphy proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 44-37 win over the Saraland Spartans. 44 seems to be a good number for the Panthers as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Despite the defeat, Saraland saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aniya Southall posted eight points in addition to seven assists and seven steals. Southall is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sadie Knight, who earned five points and five boards.

Murphy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 14-12 record this season. As for Saraland, their loss dropped their record down to 20-8.

Murphy has already played their next match, a 57-41 win against Gulf Shores on the 7th. As for Saraland, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 42-28 defeat against McGill-Toolen on the 8th.
